You’ll leave with a simple audit you can use to choose one category to focus on this month, without trying to change everything at once.

Garden Foundations: A Hands-On Immersion
Hosted by Root Gardening, this full-day learning experience designed to give home gardeners a clear, confident understanding of how to grow successfully from the ground up.
This five-hour immersion blends foundational garden education with hands-on practice in a small, supportive group setting. Drawing from Root Gardening’s consult-based approach, we’ll cover soil health, seasonal timing, seed starting, transplanting, and simple garden planning — the essential building blocks that allow a garden to thrive year after year.
Participants will learn through demonstration, guided practice, and conversation, with time built in for questions and individualized support. A shared lunch break at noon provides space to rest, connect, and reflect before continuing the afternoon session.
Each attendee will go home with a seedling tray they’ve planted themselves, along with a thoughtfully curated Garden Foundations binder/workbook. The binder includes class materials, note-taking space, garden sketching and planning graph paper, and seed organization sleeves to support learning well beyond the day of the immersion.
This experience is ideal for beginners, new homeowners, and anyone ready to slow down, learn the basics properly, and build a garden rooted in understanding rather than trial and error.
The Root Gardening Approach
Using Root Gardening’s Arch of Seasons framework, participants will learn how plant families and climate preferences guide when and how crops are grown, ultimately removing the guesswork from seasonal planting.
Investment: $225
Early Registration: $195
A limited number of early registration spots are available for those who commit in advance. Use code 195 to apply the early bird pricing at time of check out. If code error appears, early registration has closed and standard registration will apply.
