Mindful Mercantile Local Maker Collection

Purpose

Mindful Mercantile is committed to showcasing thoughtfully crafted products from local artisans and small businesses whose values align with our mission of intentional living, quality craftsmanship, and mindful consumption.

To ensure every maker receives the attention their products deserve, consignment opportunities are limited and offered by invitation or application only. Acceptance into the program is at the sole discretion of Mindful Mercantile.

Vendor Selection

Consignment space is intentionally limited to maintain a curated shopping experience.

Acceptance is based on:

  • Product quality

  • Brand alignment

  • Packaging and presentation

  • Product uniqueness

  • Existing product mix

  • Seasonal needs

  • Available retail space

Acceptance into the program does not guarantee future participation.

Commission Structure

Products are sold on consignment.

Sales are split: 60% Mindful Mercantile and 40% Maker

The commission covers:

  • Retail space

  • Merchandising

  • Customer service

  • Point-of-sale processing

  • Credit card fees

  • Inventory management

  • General marketing

  • Utilities and overhead

The maker retains ownership of all inventory until sold.

Pricing

Retail pricing must be approved by Mindful Mercantile.

Pricing should remain consistent with the maker's direct sales and other retail locations.

Mindful Mercantile reserves the right to recommend pricing adjustments based on market demand or customer expectations.

Payment Schedule

Payments are issued monthly for products sold during the previous calendar month.

A sales report will accompany each payment.

No payment is made until products have sold.

Inventory

The maker is responsible for:

  • Delivering inventory

  • Maintaining professional packaging

  • Clearly labeling products

  • Replenishing inventory as needed

Mindful Mercantile reserves the right to remove products that:

  • Do not sell

  • Become damaged

  • Are poorly presented

  • No longer align with store standards

Product Standards

Products must be:

  • Handmade or thoughtfully produced

  • Finished and retail-ready

  • Clearly priced

  • Properly labeled

  • Safe for consumer use

Any products requiring FDA, cosmetic, food, or other regulatory compliance remain the sole responsibility of the maker.

Exclusivity

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, this agreement is non-exclusive.

Makers are free to sell elsewhere.

Promotions & Discounts

Mindful Mercantile may occasionally offer storewide promotions.

Participation in promotions will be discussed with makers whenever possible.

Unless otherwise agreed, promotional discounts will be shared proportionally between the maker and Mindful Mercantile.

Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Merchandise

While reasonable care will be taken, Mindful Mercantile is not responsible for loss, theft, fire, natural disaster, or accidental damage.

Makers are encouraged to carry their own business insurance if desired.

Unsold Inventory

Either party may terminate the consignment relationship with 30 days written notice.

Inventory must be picked up within 30 days of termination.

Items not collected within 60 days may be considered abandoned and become the property of Mindful Mercantile unless other arrangements have been made.

Product Rotation

To keep the shop fresh and engaging, Mindful Mercantile may request seasonal product changes or rotate inventory throughout the year.

Makers agree to work collaboratively on product assortment.

Marketing

Mindful Mercantile may photograph and promote consigned products through its website, social media, newsletters, and other marketing channels.

The maker grants permission for these marketing efforts without additional compensation.

Right to Refuse

Mindful Mercantile reserves the right to decline, discontinue, or remove any product or maker at any time if products no longer align with the shop's mission, quality standards, customer demand, or available space.

90-Day Review

All consignment partnerships will move to a 90-day review cycle beginning September 1.
